Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in San José with automatic bilingual transfer to the exclusive mountain lodge El Silencio, a symphony of natural wellness, ideal for people looking for soft adventure and inspired wellness. The lodge is at 1.5 hours away from San José (approximately 68 km/42 miles), in the quiet community of Bajos del Toro Amarillo, situated in a 500-acre private reserve blessed with gently flowing creeks and hidden waterfalls.

El Silencio Lodge & Spa offers 16 luxury suites, each features a private viewing deck of the river or cloud forest, whirlpool, gas fireplace, complimentary mini-bar, private bathroom w/hot water, safety box, 400 thread count cotton sheets, 6" pillow-top mattress covers, and luxury personal care amenities. A full service spa is also available, featuring mystical design elements and Magical Knot meditation gardens. A Yoga platform will be ensconced in the lush forest to enjoy the purest mountain air, colors and sounds of the forest.

Day 2

Enjoy El Silencio trail hiking tour, an 8miles hike on well-groomed paths that will take you past a pristine creek and mesmerizing waterfalls. All trails are marked and animal guidebooks are available for complimentary use, the guide will point out along the way in-depth information on the local flora and fauna. Overnight in El Silencio Lodge & Spa, daily meals included.

Day 3

Get on the bus for a cultural tour to Los Bajos del Toro Amarillo, a thriving rural community with rich traditions, unsurpassed landscapes, and intriguing flora. On this tour you will be visiting a private orchid garden with more than 400 orchid species, from starting shoe-shaped specimens to tiny varieties of diminutive beauty. A magnifying glass is provided for a fun micro-safari. Followed by a relaxing stop at the local women’s association’s café for a hot cup of agua caliente (sweet raw sugar beverage) and local pastries.

Day 4

Today you will participate of a 90 minutes relaxing yoga and meditation session held either in the Yoga Deck adjacent to the Spa (weather permitting) or in the glass-enclosed room behind the coffee lounge. Bilingual Yoga instructors, trained by top Yoga instructors in the USA and Costa Rica will complement perfectly your body, mind & spirit insight surrounded by lush cloud forest.

Day 5

After an early breakfast departure to the Arenal Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the Americas located about one hour and forty five minutes from the lodge. Feel and hear its signature rumble… followed by a visit to volcanic hot springs where you can soak in mineral water for a deeply relaxing experience.

Day 6

Indulge yourself with a Rainforest Aromatherapy treatment, a combination of Aromatherapy oils and a full body massage, leading you to an unforgettable experience of mental clarity and physical relaxation.

Day 7

Drive to San José International airport to take the plane back to home, relaxed, invigorated, with plenty of memories!
