Detailed Itinerary
Day 1-2
OK!
Time to relaaaaaax! Drop down into San José International airport and take a quick drive to The Peace Lodge, One of Costa Rica's most interesting hotels.
What makes it special? For one, there are only three, VERY interesting rooms... you have to see them to believe them!
The rooms are designed with unique amenities such as oversized balconies, Jacuzzi tubs (in every room), waterfall showers and grand stone fireplaces.
From the handcrafted canopy beds and love seats to the original stained glass and illustrated artwork you will understand the time and care put into the details of each accommodation.
We assure you that you will never forget your stay!
Day 3-4
Then
it's off to the very romantic and secluded Hotel Villa Caletas on the central Pacific Coast by Jaco.
Located on a cliff high over a private beach, the Villa Caletas is surrounded by a lush rainforest. Once a mansion, it has expanded to has only 8 rooms and 20 secluded bungalows each with king
beds, ocean or jungle views, and all the amenities of home. Spectacular pool, two restaurants and bars, and an unbelievable sunset will make your stay her unforgettable.
During your stay you will go on the Catamaran Cruise to Tortuga Island. Particularly enchanting for it's beauty, Tortuga Island
is known for its immaculate white sand beach and turquoise waters, a perfect stop for swimming, snorkeling and Calypso's Famous Lunch. This is one of our most incredible tours and be
sure to click on the link above for more information!
Day 5-8
It's from one romantic luxury hotel to the next! Stay at either the Hotel Flor Blanca, or Makanda by the Sea.
Although though both the Makanda by the Sea and Flor Blanca below are similarly priced, if you want more of a 'civilized' route with shops, restaurants, and interesting adventure
tours, take
the Makanda route. If you want to keep the seclusion of the honeymoon going, stay at the Flor Blanca. Both are fantastic hotels.
--- OPTION 1 --- Makanda by the Sea (more Central)
The Makanda
by the Sea, a luxury adults only romantic hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean. These are large villas (~1000 sq. ft.) and no two are alike. They offer a large king size bed with mosquito
net, air conditioning, fully equipped kitchen including refrigerator and freezer, a large sofa and dining area, private bath with hot water and a balcony with hammock and spectacular ocean and
jungle views.
Be sure to try the Sunspot Restaurant - located poolside, an intimate restaurant serving delicious lunches and dinners, with a wide selection of international foods, including fresh fish, meats,
and local vegetables. An incredible experience! Breakfasts are included in your stay.
While in Manuel Antonio you have two wonderful adventures to enjoy! The first is the Antonio Wildlife Canopy Tour, where you will sail through
the treetops of the tropical rainforest canopy and over the trails far below. Expert guides will lead you in this exciting adventure into the heart of the rainforest,
explaining what is going on around you.
Next is a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park itself, an informative hike where you will encounter sloths, monkeys and more. Guides
also provide a great deal of information on the history, flora and fauna during this easy 2 1/2 hours walk. This national park contains some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.
--- OPTION 2 --- hotel Flor Blanca (more remote)
On a remote part of the Nicoya Peninsula, near the
town of Mal Pais, there lies the Hotel Flor Blanca. 7 acres of jungle front with only 10 villas total, this hotel is one of the most luxurious, service oriented,
private, and beautiful hotels in Costa Rica, hands down.
Each villa is a romantic masterpiece. Every villa has views of the Pacific Ocean, a living area, and private deck. The designers have borrowed liberally from the Near East and the Orient - curves
are favored over angles, pastels over vibrant colors, unvarnished brick and terra cotta over tiled floors.
One
of the more interesting features is the open air bathroom with surrounding private garden. You can actually do some star gazing from the sunken tub.
The food.... mmm, incredible. What a restaurant! What a bar! The restaurant is open-air and world-class, combining local foods with Central Pacific techniques.
Some say that this might be the best restaurant in the entire Pacific, and we're not kidding. Amazing menus, amazing chefs, and complimentary gourmet breakfasts that are well known.
If you would like breakfast in your room, just say so.
You
might not think that the food from a hotel will be a highlight of your vacation. Think again.
The restaurant turns into a wonderful bar at night, with a wide variety of drinks and ambience worthy of the word.
On site amenities include a world class surfing beach, yoga, aerobics and karate classes, with great instructors. There's also an art room and exercise room with personal trainers. And yes,
there is massage.
From the Flor Blanca, you can take a number of mini-tours directly from the hotel, including horseback riding, kayaking, and nature walks - the Flor Blanca has an on-staff biologist well versed
in local flora and fauna.
