Day 4 - 5

Tortuguero

Then journey to the Caribbean to Pachira Lodge, a 14-acre lodge, 5 minutes away from the Tortuguero National Park, a navigable network of water canals that crisscross the entire region. Tortuguero National Park is an area known worldwide for it's richness in biodiversity.

This lodge is a haven for nature lovers and adventurous people, it features 85 delightful rooms, all with a private bathroom, hot water and ceiling fan. The rooms have no telephone or television since the idea is to "switch off" modern conveniences in order to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Facilities and services include a safety depostit box at the reception desk, a swimming pool, gift shop, laundry service, bar and restaurant, boat and hiking tours, bilingual guides and forest trails. One of the great reasons to stay here is, of course, Tortuguero National Park, which is a navigable network of lake and canals that cross the National Park from Southeast to Northwest and accessible only by land, boat or air. Tortuguero There are no roads to get here!

All stays include 3 meals a day, transportation from San José, and regular tours into the park. Paddle or boat into the heart of Costa Rica!

Dinner at the Hotel.

Day 6

Tortuguero

Next you'll be traveling to the La Fortuna, the closest town to the Arenal Volcano. Departure from Tortuguero by boat and then by bus to Guapiles where lunch will take place. After this meal pick up the car and drive to Arenal. Overnight at Arenal Observatory Lodge.

Day 7

Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to the Sky Tram & Sky Trek where you will enjoy great views of the forest, the lake and the Arenal Volcano. The Tram takes 25 minutes to arrive at the observation platform, located at 1050 meters from the floor and it has a beautiful view of the Arenal volcano. You will descend from the observation platform by the Sky Trek canopy zip lines, 2.8 Km of transversal cables with different sizes between 30 and 750 meters long, with different heights of 20 to 200 meters high.

Volcán Arenal

By the afternoon visit to the Arenal Volcano with a walk either to the trail "Los Tucanes" at the National Park or Mirador El Silencio where you will observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, magnificent lava rock formations and the Arenal Lake. The tour ends at the hot springs where you will enjoy a healthy and relaxing bath. Overnight at Arenal Observatory Lodge.

Day 8 - 11

Then it's off to the beach, to the Allegro Papagayo All-inclusive Resort located on the Gulf of Papagayo on the dry and sunny North Pacific coast. The All Inclusive system at the resort features unlimited meals and snacks, full open bar, unlimited natural juices and soft drinks, 1 snack bar and 4 bars, 3 restaurants; 1 large swimming pool with children's basin; private beach club; sports such as volleyball, beach soccer, ping-pong, darts, billiards, water polo, aqua aerobics, kayaking, snorkeling & sailing; daily activities program by the pool & beach; nightly entertainment; taxes & gratuities.

Papagayo

During your stay at Allegro Papagayo you'll take a fantastic tour to Palo Verde National Park. The Parque Nacional of Palo erde, 28 km south of Bagaces, protects 13,058 hectares (32253 acres!) of floodplain, marshes, limestone ridges, and seasonal pools in the heart of the driest region of Costa Rica--the Tempisque basin, at the mouth of the Río Tempisque in the Gulf of Nicoya. The tidal river rises and falls up to four meters and is navigable for about 36 km, as far as the confluence with the Río Bolsón.

There are 15 different habitats (including several types of swamp and marshland) and a corresponding diversity of fauna. Plump crocodiles wallow on the muddy riverbanks, salivating, no doubt, at the sight of coatis, white-tailed deer, and other mammals come down to the water to drink. Palo Verde is best known as a bird-watchers' paradise.

Day 12

Drive to Liberia or San José International airport to take the plane back to home, relaxed, invigorated, with plenty of memories!
