The Carara National Park is a low mountainous area spread over 4700ha of exceptional forest. It is a transitional forest between the
tropical dry forest from the northern zone humid pacific rainforest of the south, with wildlife common to both regions. It protects
evergreen forest of great complexity and density, and it has one of the widest range of trees in the world. Some animals often spotted
here include crocodiles, iguanas, sloth, scarlet macaws, white-faced monkeys, and a great variety of river birds.
